Chocolate cacao granola

Makes 1 jar

Ingredients

Method

Cacao sauce ingredients

1/2 cup dates soaked in hot water for 2 hours
1/4 cup coconut oil melted
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tbs cacao powder

Dry ingredients
2 cups puffed brown rice cereal
2 cups gf oats
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup flaxseeds
1/4 sesame seeds
1/4 cup chia seeds
pinch salt
 

Drain the dates and blend the cacao sauce ingredients in a food processor until you have a smooth mixture.

 

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and then stir in cacao sauce until fully combined and everything is well covered.


Split the mixture across as many baking trays as you need. I used Teflon sheets to make sure the mixture doesn’t stick.

 

Cook in oven for 25 mins until dry to touch and slightly crispy on the edges. Making sure it doesn’t burn by checking regularly.

 

Leave to cool on sheets/trays then once cool break into big chucks and store in an airtight container.
