What to expect on our retreat

FAQ's
What does a typical day look like at the retreat?
We start the day with an 8am Pilates session led by Rachel on the ground floor of the accommodation. Fruit, hot drinks and ginger shots are available before the class for those who need a little boost to get going! This is followed by a lovely breakfast after working up an appetite. We then head out for a guided hike to take in the breathtaking Swedish scenery. Lunch is served around 1pm, followed by free time. The Åre Autumn Market is taking place on the 25th and 26th of September and is a short walk from the accommodation and not to be missed. We gather for our second Pilates session of the day around 6pm, and a two-course dinner is served at 7.30pm, starting with canapés and a glass of fizz!
What fitness level is required?
We welcome all levels of fitness. Each class is designed to challenge and build strength, but options are always offered for each movement. Rachel tailors the classes to the time of day — some are dynamic, while others focus on breathwork and relaxation. There is something for everyone.
Do I need to take part in all activities?
Certainly not. We always say it is your weekend, your retreat, and you choose how to spend that time. The aim of the retreat is that you leave having taken from it what you need.
How many people will there be on the retreat?
We take no more than 13 people, as we like there to be enough space for everyone in the Pilates studio on the ground floor. However, the house sleeps 20 comfortably, which means there is ample space for everyone to be together but also have their own space. There are four bathrooms with showers, two en suites, and three open showers next to the sauna.
Do you get guests who attend on their own?
Yes! All the time. Around half of our past guests have come solo and leave with lots of new friends. The best part of the retreat for us is seeing the friendships grow between our guests.
What do I need to pack?
In September we have seen all seasons — sun, rain and snow — which truthfully makes for a magical trip. We supply a full list of what we recommend you bring, keeping it light but practical. There is a washing machine and large dryers on site, which come in handy in case of any rain.
How do we get from the airport?
We require all guests to travel from Gatwick to Trondheim together, and we then provide a taxi bus from the airport to the house. This takes around two hours and travels through some of the most stunning Scandinavian scenery. It is not unheard of to spot wild reindeer on the drive.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes, we appreciate that splitting the costs helps. We require a £200 non-refundable deposit to secure your space, then half of the remaining balance by 30th April 2026, and the remaining balance by 31st July 2026.
What is your cancellation policy?
We hope no one has to cancel — of course, unexpected things do happen, so we do recommend that you have adequate travel cancellation insurance in place before booking your retreat/experience with us.
If you need to cancel any booking, cancellation fees will apply, as outlined below:
-
If you cancel 90 days or more before the start date of your retreat/experience, you will be refunded the full amount paid up to that date, excluding the £200 deposit per person, which is non-refundable.
-
If you cancel between 60–90 days before your start date, you will be refunded 50% of any sums paid, excluding the £200 deposit per person, which is non-refundable.
-
Cancellations made less than 60 days before the start date are non-refundable and will result in forfeiture of any and all sums paid. Due to our need to commit to accommodation and other arrangements in advance, exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason.
